The Shortness of Life

 Life. Is. Too. Short.
Too short to not live loved. Too short not to say the things that mean the most. Too short to waste chasing after stuff that only leaves us empty and unfulfilled. As I watch hurricanes sweep away lives and property, as I hear about the California fires destroying countless hopes, dreams, and livelihoods...it reminds me that the things that matter the most aren't things - they're the intangibles: Faith, family, memories made, people we made them with, risks we were willing to take, hard choices we were courageous enough to act upon...these are the things that build a life and a legacy. Even if there is no longer "stuff" to your name. Life is too short to get caught up in pointless arguments and meaningless goals. These won't be what we wish for in our worst moments - love, laughter, life, belief, and strength will be. And in God (our most unchangeable person in this ever-changing world) we find all of these.
So hug your dear ones tighter. Tell those you love most how much they mean to you. Invest in what is timeless...because in hard moments, that's the investment we will pull from the most.
